BEAUTY TIP OF THE DAY

If you have watched any of my makeup tutorials you may have already heard this tip but for those of you who haven't it's definitely something you should know! Who has unruly eyebrows in the morning when you wake up? Wish you could just get your eyebrows to look shaped? I use Maybelline's Lash Blast clear mascara for that exactly. Just brush a little on each brow and sculpt them down the way you want and voila!! ENJOY :)

Sitting back and recognizing..

I just have to write about how amazingly blessed I have been in 2012. I have literally not been in a salon in Illinois working since last May and my business is just doing great! My wedding business has gone through the roof and I never thought I would be where I am without being in an actual location. I can't thank my clients enough for sticking it out through thick and thin with me and being oh so very patient while I'm in the works of opening Lox.Salon.Spa. The salon has been in the works for almost a year and it's finally all coming together and we're HOPING to be starting construction May/June. Yes, I'd like it to be open tomorrow cuz do I miss my shampoo bowl and hydrolic chair more than ever!! BUT I'm staying patient and enjoying every moment along the way. What an amazing journey, right? I have to sit back and remember to soak up what's happening in my life right now with only being 24. I'm ready to be an amazing salon manager and business partner with my mom and be everything I've wanted in a salon owner. Here's to the future :)

BEAUTY TIP OF THE DAY

Have a zit and need it to disappear FAST?? Just open your medicine cabinet and pull out an aspirin. Crush up the pill with a couple drops of water and apply on the affected areas before bed. The next morning the red should be gone and definitely smaller in size!! ENJOY :)

Clean your makeup brushes!!!

Ladies, are you having trouble with breakouts or blemishes and just cannot get rid of them? The solution may lie in your makeup brushes. Think about the last time you cleaned your brushes..... can't remember? Well all of that makeup, dirt, residue, and oil is building up on your brushes and your using them over and over on your face which can result in breaking your face out! SOOOO get out all of your brushes and a mild soap and wash each brush by hand in your sink. Make sure all brushes rinse clean. When all are clean set them off the side of your counter to let dry. (this is so they aren't drying on an unclean service) You should clean your brushes at least once a week! ENJOY :)

KM COLOR.BUG

I know there are ladies out there that want funky hair but just wish there was a non permanent way to do it. Well Kevin Murphy has come out with the COLOR.BUG and it's the next best thing! COLOR.BUG is wipe on, wipe off color! It’s just for fun and just for the one night. With a towel draped around your shoulders to protect your clothes, I would apply a hair product and then the COLOR.BUG to make it stick. The COLOR.BUG adds body to hair, you can keep this raw texture or add a fine mist of hairspray to lock on the color. It's available in Pink, Purple, and Orange. ENJOY :)

Soft and Sexy Eye Makeup

For an eye look that’s defined but not too heavy, line your upper lash line with black eyeliner and the bottom lash line with brown eyeliner. This trick works great in giving you beautiful soft eyes! ENJOY :)

Cute and Simple Updo

 I get asked a lot on how to do "easy updos" and I came across this on Pinterest and if you know how to braid then this is a super cute fast updo!

Tease at the top of your head if you want some "umph" then take your hair into 3 sections. Then braid each section and tie off with a small rubber band. Then take each braid and coil it into a bun. Viola! You just created a super cute updo! ENJOY :)

 

Ombre is in and HOT

BEAUTY TIP OF THE DAY: This is by far the best concealer I've came across yet! It does really well at covering up blemishes, undereye, circles, and puffiness under eyes. The best way to conceal is to first prime your skin, concealer, foundation, concealer, powder. That's at least the way I prefer! ENJOY :)

BEAUTY TIP OF THE DAY: If you have a round face and want to make it look more oval: Apply a bronzer a shade or two darker than your skin tone in a "3" shape alongside your face: on your temples, the hollow of your cheeks, and your chin.  If you have a prominent forehead: Shade around the outer edge of your forehead along your hairline to minimize the area with bronzer.  If you have a flat or wide nose: Shade alongside your bridge starting from your inner brows. Then highlight right on the center of your nose.And if you really want to make your contouring stand out, use a sparkly highlighter, which will reflect the most light. Then for your bronzer, go for a matte finish, which will absorb light and create a stark contrast. ENJOY :)

Beauty Tip of the Day

Want a fast tan but just don't have the time to run to the tanning salon? Get some loose bronzer out and add it in with your favorite lotion and apply all over. You'll look like you just got back from the beach and it only takes a few minutes!! ENJOY :)

Beauty Tip of the Day

Do you have straight stubborn lashes? Well... break out your eyelash curler and your blow dryer and blast the lash band with heat. This will allow your eyelash curler to act as a curling iron and will create a beautiful curl in those lashes of yours. LOVE this tip!

February Appointments

ATTENTION LADIES AND GENTS!! 

I'm back from vacation and booking appointments for February. Please schedule your appointments now as for the month is booking up! I'm still making house calls at this time which allows you to come home after work or just to simply relax and not have to drive to the salon. You are more than welcome to make appointments through making a comment below. 

This month I'm also running a special on fusion hair extensions. I'm now happy to be using D-Lux brand u-tip hair extensions and absolutely LOVE them! These keratin fused extensions can last anywhere from 3-6 months depending how well you take care of them. 2012

HEY GUYS! 

Gosh it's been awhile! so many things have happened since my last post and I can't wait to share with you all where my life is now! Me and my husband and now back in Il and we are SO happy to be home. This little girl was homesick :)

Anyways, we're back in Illinois and here to stay! In my career I'm in an amazing position right now and I'm very excited for this year and what it has to bring. I'm in the middle of comitting to a location to begin my very own salon! The process of finding a location has been very long and drawn out but patience is a virtue, right? So I'm hoping that things will start to fall in to place within the next month and we can begin constrution! EXCITING :)

While all of the above is going on I've been just traveling to clients homes and making it convenient for them until I'm able to be in my salon. It's been wonderful because it's been so relaxed and I get to be on their schedule and there's no timeline to be met. I do have to say I'll miss it once I'm in the salon. 

I've started to do tutorials and really think it's helped me grow as a stylist and honestly helped people who have watched them understand my topic that I'm doing one on. I love helping people understand their hair and can see how frustrating it is when you see someone or something and you just can't accomplish it on your own. So, now I'm hoping that these hair and make-up tutorials are helping people that have been struggling and just can't quite figure it out! 

I think this was a good fill in for everything that's been going on since my last post. I'm going to continue to post on here hopefully once a week and do the same on my business page on Facebook. Very happy to be home and can't wait to get my hands in some good ol' IL hair againnnn :)
